CFSS Innovative Methodologies For Research In Fashion Studies: A Doctoral And Post-Doctoral Forum. Goldsmiths, London. May 11th 2020
On behalf of the Critical Fashion Studies Seminar (CFSS) we are delighted to announce our second event with a Call For Participants. This event will focus around current PHDs and post-doctoral researchers presenting work-in-progress which pushes ahead with innovative methodologies and new critical perspectives, with a view to extending the remit of scholarship in fashion studies today. There will be 4 panels of 4 presentations with a final plenary from recently completed PHDs in our field. The plenary will be an opportunity to discuss academic career trajectories, questions of diversity and equality, and national and international initiatives. Each research panel presentation will be 15 minutes leaving 5-10 minutes for questions. These will be chaired by our CFSS team from Goldsmiths, Kings, CSMs and LCF.
Goldsmiths is hosting this event and there will be a drinks reception following the plenary. If you would like to take part please send an abstract of 150 words to a.mcrobbie@gold.ac.uk.
Because of limited space contributors will be included on the basis of their abstract but also on a first-come-first-served basis. We hope, however, to support similar events in the future so that more PHD candidates can present their work at the series. The event will be open to the public and registrations details will be circulated in March.
The CFSS is a series convened by Dr. Joanne Entwistle (King’s College), Professor Angela McRobbie (Goldsmiths), Professor Agnès Rocamora (LCF, UAL) and Dr. Jane Tynan (CSM, UAL)
